Great place!
Posted Jul 31, 2008 by Vicki
I've been here five times, and never been disappointed. Sushi is their specialty, and boy do they do a good job. I'd have to say that the lower end rolls are not good. Cucumber roll: bland. But once you try the more expensive rolls and specialty rolls, the quality is amazing! They've even created new specialty rolls only they have! Ingredients are fresh, and that makes for great sushi. The salmon here is the best I have had. I also tried some of the pan-asian dishes, and contrary to my prediction, they are tasty! This has become one of my favorite places to eat.

Awful

This was the worst food I have ever had. The beef did not look or taste like beef. The texture was slimy and gross. The sauce was bland.

I also ordered California rolls. They could have been the worst EVER. They were big, with mostly rice. They also contained way too much mayo. I ended up just eating the crab inside, becuase the rest of rolls so was so unedible. I do NOT reccomend this place. The food was horrible and not worth the money.

Great salmon here!

This was a great place to eat, although the sushi was a bit on the pricey side, it was well worth it. The salmon was smooth and buttery and felt like it melted in my mouth. This was by far the best Salmon nigiri I’ve had so far. The atmosphere was alright, although I felt like i was eating in a diner sort of but then again they are also a family diner type place serving a variety of dishes.

Sushi & Pan-Asian

In short: great price, and excellent variety of tasty choices including the sushi!

Ken Zaburo's has quickly become my favorite 'Asian' restaurant – replacing separate Japanese, Thai and Chinese choices. Besides excellent sushi, they make great Japanese and Thai entrée’s: try the Green Bean Tofu, Spicy Thai Garlic, and the Buddha Tofu. Note you can pick almost any entrée and choose from beef, pork, chicken, shrimp or mixed seafood.

It’s amazing to see the difference between the dumpy Chinese place that was in the space before Ken replaced them – the interior is tasteful and clean, and doesn’t try to look like a slice of old-style Japan. You can sit at the Sushi bar and chat with Ken himself, or his wife Janet. They already know many of their customers by name, so introduce yourself.

My particular favorite is the Totem Lake Combo bento box for lunch – I only wish they’d have it for dinner as well.
