Just had a fine sushi lunch at Blue Fin. I'm new
in Bham and was nervous about my first sushi. I chose well. I've traveled quite a bit, including LA, SF, etc and eaten sushi everywhere I been. I am a nigiri guy. Rolls and all that are nice, but one cannot judge the quality of the fish with mayo and spicy sauce all over it. The freshness and quality of the fish at Blue Fin is excellent. Steve, the chef, and Sue his wife, are the owners. They were both very friendly and attentive. They have been in business four years and are obviously doing it properly. Also the selection was impressive. I had Ankimo, Saba (they make it there), Uni, Big Eye Tuna, Scallop (Hotate), Unagi and Hamachi. Yes, I ate too much, but it was excellent and I wanted to really check out the quality of the fish. The other amazing thing is that the nigiri was $4! $4?!?! For fresh fish?! I am accustomed to more like $6-$7. Anyone complaining about the price needs to just go to the all you can eat place... always amazing Posted Jul 15, 2010 by Terry
I have never had a better sushi in my life I have tried LA, LAS VEGAS, Portland, and Seattle!!! In no way did any other restrant match the quality or taste.... great atmospher and great service!!! price is a get what you pay for basis an average roll is about $10-$14>>> but well worth it!!!!

We have been to Blue Fin twice and each time it was wonderful. Some of the other reviews speak about the service, but we found it to be good. Everything about the place is good and it gave me the feel of Japan when we ate there.

I have visited Blue Fin several times
and have yet to be disappointed. It's true the service could be a bit better but the sushi is amazing especially the rainbow rolls. Compared to other sushi places, the price is decent too. I have to agree with the first two posts. If you love eating sushi and eat it as regularly as I do, you would agree that Blue Fin Sushi is undoubtedly the best sushi in Bellingham. If you're willing to spend the money, the more expensive, elaborate rolls are absolutely delicious. In case you have not been in a while, the menu was remade about three months ago and now has much more selection, particularly with the sushi. The top 5 or so sushi rolls at Blue Fin are up to par if not better than any Sushi I have had anywhere.

If you are still being deceived by the supposedly "best in B'ham" lists turned out by the papers, it's your loss.
Blue Fin is by far the BEST sushi in town, hands down. |
