Kahiana has always had the best sushi in Des
moines, burien, federal way, and kent area.
Service is not bad. And the employes are
always nice. The only negative opinion I had
was that the teryiaki constantly changes. From
the salad dressing, beef, shortribs, chicken,
and even to the udon and sukiyaki. It must be
because all the chefs constantly change as I
noticed over the years. For a good 6 months I
wouldn't even eat anything else but the sushi.
Just a month ago I decided to try the teriyaki
seeing that there was a new chef, and it was
actually really good. Chicken was not dry like it
would be normally. Tempura was completely
battered, didn't taste old, and was not soggy.
Usually there is hardly any batter on the
shrimps or vegtables, and sometimes the
tempura tastes old and re-fried. And the salad
dressing was great, it was not the pink sweet
awfull dressing it used to be. I could honestly
say that the teriyaki was perfect. And has been
for the last month and a half.
