Great sushi!
Posted May 03, 2009 by fzzzzzzzt
I love this place. The food is great - I especially recommend the white tuna, which is always excellent here, and the spicy scallop roll - and the servers are fun. It's not fancy but I have never had anything to eat there that I didn't love.

Reviewers below are nuts

Olympia Koibito -- Harrison Ave.

I have no idea what the morons that posted below me are talking about, because I've been to all the sushi/teri places in the area and this is one of the best. Lived here my whole life and the only other place that comes close is Teriyaki Delight in Tumwater.

olyolyoly: Maybe it's YOUR perception that the wait staff are inattentive/rude, but NOT mine. Yes, they're a bit blunt, but get over yourself. There is a slight language barrier that might contribute to YOUR inability to see past your whiteness. You disgust me. Go eat at Dairy Queen if you're so put off by the "ambiance" (you should first spell this word correctly) of Koibito. Yes, it is an old burger place. You'd know this if you weren't a new transplant from whatever snobby part of the NE you hail from. Maybe YOU should try opening a small business of your own with your trust fund money to create the ambiance you're looking for. You and your boyfriend can go back to New England. Thanks!

Not Top-Notch but Not Bad

You walk into Koibito and sit yourself at the bar at the back for sushi or one of the tables in this large room.

There's 1 maker and 1 server but service is still reasonable.

There's more meat than rice and a hint of light wasabi in every somewhat messy roll.

There's not a lot of privacy in a big room with lots of tables and it's a bit dark but even with all the negatives it still has decent sushi. But if you can make it to So. Tacoma/Seattle/Portland I reccomend it. It's worth the drive.

Disappointing

My boyfriend and I went to Kobito and had some of the worst service ever. The waitress was inattentive and a bit rude. The seafood salad and miso soup were gross. The abiance was not up to par. The place looks like it's an old Dairy Queen. We were recommended Kobito by a friend and we will not go back.

Excellent Sushi

I have been going to the restaurant for about 5
years now and Sushi quality is the best and
thickness of the fish and test is the best the
Olympia.

Traitorous

I work at a different sushi bar/ teriyaki shop and yet Koibito is where I go. Need I say anything else?
