About time we made it out to Shiro's! The lowdown to Shiro's goes something like this: meals at Shiro's are expensive, but well worth the money if you have the money to burn. Their sushi and sashimi are some of the freshest we've had yet... and compared to the rest of the Belltown sushi fare, Shiro's is probably the most traditional. Their white table-clothed decor mixed with '80s glassware and an awning that looks like it belongs to an Italian joint are all a little mismatched, but that's okay. Despite the steep prices, nobody at Shiro's is stuck up. Waiters and sushi chefs are friendly and always ready to comply with your every request. It's an atmosphere that is not often replicated in expensive restaurants, yet Shiro's maintains its own cult following of hardcore regulars. Waits can be present on busier nights, so reservations are recommended. And again... go to Shiro's if you've got the money to burn.

A good sushi place, but overhyped

I've given this place a shot 3 times now. The first time was random, 2nd was convenience, and the 3rd was because it was ranked in the top 10 in Seattle on Yelp. Yes it's good, the staff is very nice, and the quality is good. However for the price I wasn't very satisfied. I've tried the sushi platter which is ok, and I've also tried having the chef's decide what I have for the evening. I spent around $70 that night trying to be impressed and it just didn't happen. It's pretty good, but I can get pretty good for $25 easily at many places around the city.

shiro rocks

Get there early, yes, and be prepared to let Shiro guide you through, no matter your experience. Eat the dishes as they are presented, Shiro's kind of like the soup nazi if you want too much wasabe! Expensive, but worth it.

We Absolutely LOVE Shiros

Great cozy little restaurant. Beware, it is a small restaurant for the amount of customers they get, there could be a long line. But personally the quality of the sushi at Shiro's is outstanding. Try their Otoro, it is worth the money. I recommend everyone try this restaurant at least once.
