Jo's Sushi Bar
Rating = 4.25 out of 5.00. Big rolls for the price (Nov 03, 2007)
by alien from Anytown, AT 55555 - report post
Went in a group of five where four of us shared five rolls. Now, you may be thinking this isn't a lot, but the rolls, as the title alludes to, are giant. I usually can eat two rolls on my own, and I was perfectly stuffed after all was said and done. There was even two pieces left. They also gave us complementary crab cake claws (not sure what they're called), sticks of carrots and celery, miso soup, and edamame. There's not as much variety in the types of rolls as some restaurants, but there are more than just a few. The last member of our group got tonkatsu, which also looked yummy. Visit this place, and definitely get the Jimbo roll. That one is good.

Sachi Sushi
Rating = 4.00 out of 5.00. the REAL ramen (Oct 02, 2007)
by alien from Anytown, AT 55555 - report post
Obviously had the ramen here. It tasted like the "real" ramen, which I consider to be the packaged kind. Ha ha, but I'm sure they use fresh noodles. Didn't have any rolls, but the sashimi was pretty good. As EATENG mentioned, the waiter got us extra Toro. Seemed somewhat expensive overall, though. I think the bill came out to be over $90 for three people? It's nice if you're in the area. Try it!

House Of Sake
Rating = 4.00 out of 5.00. The waiter will take sake bombs with you. (Mar 01, 2007)
by alien from Anytown, AT 55555 - report post
The title says it all. This place has a great, fun environment and everyone is friendly and very attentive. The food is kind of pricey and there is not much variety, but they have a white snow roll that you MUST try if you go. I think that's the name of it, but it sounds gross b/c mayonnaise is dribbled on top, but it is fantastic. Try this place out, it's certainly a unique one. Also, they have some items that aren't on the menu. One of them is a salmon thing in foil that I have no idea what it's called, but if you tell them "salmon thing in foil" they'll know what you're talking about. I know b/c someone ordered it that way. =)

Koi Sushi Boat
Rating = 3.50 out of 5.00. A nice sushi place if you're in the area (Jan 14, 2007)
by alien from Anytown, AT 55555 - report post
Perhaps I chose the wrong sushi rolls because they were very similar, and so I had an overdose of artificial crab. Otherwise it was pretty good. Normal, nothing too special. The atmosphere is pretty nice, with most of the tables being booths, so your meal can be eaten in private. The sashimi pieces are pretty big, and you can get around 10 pieces (not sure) for $17 (dinner). Dragon roll and Lion King (veryvery creamy) are both $9. California roll is $4, so the prices aren't super bad. Also, the service is pretty speedy; the food came really fast. All in all a nice sushi place to go to if you're in the area.

Senro Japanese Bar & Grill
Rating = 3.50 out of 5.00. Hidden place, but pretty good (Dec 22, 2006)
by alien from Anytown, AT 55555 - report post
I've only been there when it wasn't crowded (or does it never become that way?) so I'm not sure about the true atmosphere, but it seems pleasant enough. There are interesting rolls (don't get the chicken one) and the raw ones are good. Raw food isn't my forte though, but to me it tastes good enough. Price isn't too bad either. It's a place I would go back to again.

Tomo Sushi Bar & Grill
Rating = 3.50 out of 5.00. Pretty Average (Dec 12, 2006)
by alien from Anytown, AT 55555 - report post
I went when they were 10 minutes to opening, but they kindly still let me and my party in. It was, obviously, empty, so I'm not sure how the atmosphere or service will fare once it hits busy time. The food presentation was really nice, and that made it taste that much better. Overall though, it was pretty average with nothing awesome sticking out in my mind. On the other hand, the people here are really nice, and if you're into crafts, there's a diy craftstore next door that let's you take their clay figurines and paint them into your own creation.
